Security outfit McAfee is offering users the chance to try out Free McAfee Internet Security 2010 completely free for half a year. By visiting this special webpage, customers will be able to access and download a free copy of McAfee Internet Security 2010 that they will be able to deploy and use for no less than six months.

In addition, the security company is permitting the six-month trial to be installed on no less than three different computers. All that users need to do is navigate to this webpage and sign up for the free trial.

McAfee requires users to go through a very simple sign-up process that gets completed rapidly, and to verify their account by clicking on a link sent via email. The six-month free trial of McAfee Internet Security 2010 will become available for download at the account page with the expiration date set for 15/04/2010.

For those of you that are already running the latest iteration of the Windows client, or that are thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 come October 22, McAfee Internet Security 2010 already comes with support for the successor of Windows Vista. In fact, support is guaranteed for Windows XP 32-bit, Windows Vista 32- and 64-bit, and Windows 7 32- and 64-bit.

“All features and functions will continue to work on Windows, except for McAfee Local Backup, which will not be supported on Windows 7,” McAfee noted. “When users are upgrading their computer to Windows 7 they will be notified during the installation process that McAfee Local Backup will no longer be supported on Windows 7. In addition they will be provided with a link to a landing page with instructions on how to restore existing back up files prior to upgrading to Windows 7.”

Alright I installed it, looked at its UI, vomited a few times, and am in the process of uninstalling it.

Hell even Norton Internet Security 2010 looks better.
