I notice that a lot of newcommers to this Forum seem to turn off UAC as that get annoyed with it keep asking for confirmation of an action.
Do you run it and if so why?

I used it as a makeshift child-lock for a few weeks when my baby nephew was visiting daily a few years ago and was fascinated by the computer screen.
Turned it off completely since then.

Well it's Friday so here's the summary as promised.
    There were 21 responders.
14 Have the UAC enabled some with it notched up to the highest level!
6 Have it turned off. Reason, some found it annoying or a disturbance.
1 Is at present going through a conversion from Off to On after reading all the comments.
Not enough to come to any really meaningful conclusions but an interesting exercise from which I for one have gained a fair bit of knowledge.
    Thanks to all who participated.

Doesn't seem to be enough interest to make it worthwhile!

You can never tell on that one mitchell, On many occasions I have taken part in a poll but never posted in the thread. It's easier to vote than to post.

This thread has had nearly 1000 views, maybe try it as a poll for a week and see what results it yields.

    Paul.
Agree there. This may become more interesting. I for one turn it "on" when there are relatives visiting but most of the time it's "off" for I have Emsisoft Online Armor Premium who does the job for me.
