comodo firewall

    comodo firewall


    hello guys i had been using comodo firewall and antivirus free editions but i also play online game but firewall and antivirus was working so finely iwth game with no incompabiltiy so one day my game brought a big patch and launcher updated right away whenever i start my game launcher pc stopped runnig for 3-4 mins i wasnt able to click anything this was only happening with my game not any other softwares or games i uninstalled comodos and game came back to normal again so what have caused that? if anyone knows about firewalls?(p.s. my win 8 laptop never had problem with same game and comodo firewall maybe about configurations)

    Get rid of comodo and install Windows Security Essentials

    Try adding the game folder to the exceptions list of antivirus, so it doesn't gets checked every time. But do a manual scan beforehand so you can be sure there isn't anything there.
    For networking play, if it applies, make sure the game has enough permissions on the firewall, and the ports it uses are opened.

    I've used Comodo and it caused me some issues with Steam games;

    to fix I added Steam.exe and the Steam folder to the exceptions of Defense+ and Firewall.
    Also a good idea to select Trust this program and allow all notifications from Steam.

    Odd, i've not had a issue using comodo suite. Usually on first time use comodo will ask for permissions to set a rule on the specific application/applications. Steam games work with no problems and can play online for me. There's probably a rule that wasn't set, at least that's what i'm assuming but usually comodo will ask you if you want to set a rule. This is why i'm a bit stumbled with as to why comodo would block the application even after a update.
