Can't uninstall virus-like software because have to wait until

..another one is done uninstalling. but it's been hours since I uninstalled the last virus-like software, and it still apparently has not been done uninstalling.

What do I do in this case?

Is there any way I can stop this installing of useless software that comes with free software? Is there certain program that will prevent it from installing while tricking the free software into thinking that it has been installed?

The type of virus like software I am talking about is the DNS basic, Sotomo Toolbar, Sweetpacks, etc.
Is there certain software that will register these as viruses and will get rid of them? I guess avast doesn't work because I scanned the whole computer with the full scan function of avast but it didn't delete these junk programs like it should.

Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.

The program VistaKing has suggested is a great program for removing such trash but it will not stop them from coming back. You have to do that yourself.
Most of this trash are connected to good programs and will give you a chance to uncheck them when you do the install. You have to pay close attention and read everything. Sometimes they are hid in the user agreement. It is a never ending battle when downloading. I have had one download that would add Babylon search engine whether you checked it or unchecked it. I got it off of Cnet.

These things are called PUP (potentially unwanted program)
and not viruses that why your anti virus program will not pick them up.

    You could also run Malwarebytes

    Run Malwarebytes

    Download Link MalwareBytes

When the installation is done uncheck Enable free trial of Malwarebytes (see image below )

Update the definitions and do a full scan

    On the Scanner tab:
Make sure the "Perform Full Scan" option is selected.
Then click on the Scan button.
If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.

    Girom,
It looks like you start a lot of threads/problems.
You often don't reply to the help suggested, or give any feedback to the person trying to help you.

In this thread of yours, I tried to help....
How do I make sure this goes into sleep?
I would prefer to hear back from you that I'm an idiot for suggesting what i did, rather than no response at all...

No feedback from the OP makes me wonder if I did more harm than good for the OP with my suggestion...
