Bit Locker Help !!! ...... Wont Give Me Access To Enter My Password

So here's my problem . I recently formatted my drive and put windows 7 ultimate on . I had backed up some of my files on a USB flash drive (ScanDisk) .When I try to access the file I get the message "Unlock This Drive Using Your Recovery Key" .."If you don't remember your password or you don't have a smart card you can use the recovery key to unlock the drive".

It then only gives me the option to either
    A) Get the key from a a USB flash drive
B). Type the Recovery Key .

I KNOW MY PASSWORD ! .. What I do not have is the recovery key {yes it was one of the documents I saved to the flash drive and yes I do see the irony ;-) } .. So my questions are as follows :

1)Why am I not allowed to get to the password area ?
2)Is there a way to get to the Password area of the flash drive from CMD or any other method?
3)Is there something I need to download ? I am using Windows 7 Ultimate but not SP 1 as I have some software that is not compatible . Could that be a cause or am I reaching ?

Hello Don, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Oops. You might see if you may be able to use step 2 in the tutorial below with your BitLocker password to unlock the drive.

    Hope this helps, :)

Thanks for the advice .However in the instructions it states that the password option is only available in windows 8 and I have windows 7 ultimate... was that a typo ? If not then the other two options cannot assist me either as I do not have the recovery key for option B and as for option C I do not know what a Startup Key even is . Could you or someone else please clarify ? Thanks and I do appreciate any and all assistance

Sorry about that Don. I forgot that option was Windows 8 only.

    Instead, try OPTION TWO below.
