thanks for your time this morning. I think this is the second time I have installed my OEM machine, although it could be the first from when I first build my pc back in 2011.

Correct me if Im wrong but the OEM installation has the pre-configured serial key on the boot device, because the key under right click - computer has the word OEM in it, which I assume is useless.

I am also going to have to buy a new dvd drive, where my windows 7 ult oem will be installed from. Its also crucial I burn a copy of it.

so any help about this is appreciated

ps hitman now detects nothing. Microsoft security essentials full scan detects nothing. But I still have my pc not sleeping well at night and trying to install updates on its own waking me up every evening then failing to install

The key that you would need to use is the key under the laptop . The key that is in the PC already could only be used with the Recovery discs which will reinstall the bloatware ( trial software ) .

The link I provided ( clean OEM install ) will have everything you will need . Read the tutorial first before actually doing the steps so you will understand the steps .

    Run this tool below

    Farbar Service Scanner

Click here Farbar Service Scanner to DOWNLOAD

Place the file onto your desktop

    Right click on FSS.exe select

Place a check mark next to the following options

    • ⬜ Internet Services
    • ⬜ Windows Firewall
    • ⬜ System Restore
    • ⬜ Security Center
    • ⬜ Windows Update
    • ⬜ Windows Defender

    Press the Scan button

Farbar Service Scanner will create a log, called FSS.txt, on the Desktop. Upload the FSS.txt with your reply

    graphic333,

in all honesty, you can see my pc is clogged with cracked software. And I cant afford to buy it. So I will install it then remove the keygens on my fresh install
There is some faulty logic present in the above comment/admission.

The issue is, that cracked software is illegal, and its install and use is equivalent to theft.

Besides being illegal, cracked software is a prime source for infecting your system, as malware authors prey on users looking to circumvent software protection mechanisms.

This forum, as well as other reputable malware removal forums, do not support the use of illegal software, as our help may be construed as aiding copyright violations. Therefore, if you wish to continue receiving help, you must remove all cracked software from the computer.

Not abiding by this rule may result in your being banned from this forum.

When done removing the cracked software, run CKScanner (below), and post its result in your reply.

    CKScanner download:
    http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/CKScanner.exe
Important: - Save it to the Desktop
Double-click CKScanner.exe, then, click: Search For Files

When a list appears, click: Save List To File
A message box verifies the file saved.

Double-click the CKFiles.txt on your Desktop, and copy/paste its contents in your reply.

We may, or may not proceed, based on its results.

I have the OEM installation disk burnt to a dvd. I purchased windows 7 ult OEM for about 200 usd from a canadian company as a download from a silver microsoft certified dealer (or something). Since then I cannot find the company or the email / proof of purchase. So all I have is the dvd I burnt using the advised software they sent me to do so. I will most likely try to burn another version of this before I proceed to any re-install. I don't have a laptop with any sticker. I will read the tutorial however in the meantime, thank-you :)

If you need to locate the Product Key take a look at this link below

Look at options 2-5 . Pick one out of those to locate your Key .
