Services live update

I had Symantec Installed on my computer. Something went wrong with Symantec so I had to uninstalled It. When I tried to uninstalled Symantec It wasn't enable to uninstall the services. I delete all the Symantec services. I just was wondering do I delete the live update service or does Windows use that service too?
