Best Paid AV Suite
I did not want to make a poll but what Antivirus Suite do you think is the best? I am talking about a suite such as Avast Internet Security, or KIS ...etc? Just curious.

I've had three paid for suites,
Norton,
Mcafee,
Stop sign,
None of which were worth the money,
So I stopped looking for a paid for security,
Stuck with MSE,
And used pro versions of scanners all three of the paid for versions used to cleanup corruptions after the fact
I use Virgin Media Security as it comes rolled into my broadband package. It's been great for me in all the years I've been using it.
Hi Boozad .. What is it they use now think it used to be Bull Guard .. I am with them too but did not Install the software
I have been using the Pro version of Avira on my XP box for several years. It's the only other AV I would think about beside MSE. I've tried all the others and did not like the results.
I don't pay for any security packages, but the paid on demand scanners such as Malwarebytes are good, if you want/need greater security and support. avast! used to be good, but I think it's quite mixed opinion now, personally I've seen it cause problems quite regularly, but rarely seen ESET cause problems. Bitdefender is quite a rare problematic program, but I'm not sure about it's security.
Yeah it did used to be Bull Guard but I think they had some issues there, installs became corrupt and the program renamed itself as Freedom. Once that had happened it was incurable as far as I'm aware, even uninstalling and reinstalling didn't put it right.
They use Trend-Micro now. I've tested the AV numerous times in the past by introducing a known virus and downloading a load of different keygens and it picked them all up. I'm quite happy and feel pretty safe with it after all of that.
I would have said the same about ESET until very recently but I upgraded from NOD32 V.5 to V.6 recently and have had problems ever since with occasional failing boot-ups. I'm not the only one.
I had used NOD32 for years, coexisting with Malwarebytes, with absolutely no problems at all.
ESET's response was that Malwarebytes was causing the problem with NOD32 v.6.
I stopped MWB from operating (killed it in Services) but I still got these occasional (about 1 in every 10 or so) failed boots.
Uninstall MWB completely, they said. It didn't seem to make any discernible difference, and I really want it on board on my system.
I could live with these failed boots now and again but, earlier today, ESET's notification area announced that it had "updated the program module". Being something of a sceptic, I rebooted the computer - failed. And again - and again. It took 4 attempts to get it going again. The boot log shows epfwwfpr.sys (installed by NOD32)to be the culprit each time, and it is a different version of the same file that ran with NOD32 V.5.
I am seriously think of ditching NOD32 when my four PC license expires nest month. I may go for Bitdefender: it gets good reviews wherever I look. Any other experiences?
