Is AVG "quick tune" safe and/or recommended?

I use AVG free antivirus and have for more than a year on my Win7-64 machine. I just tried a Quick Tune scan and it showed that I have 220 registry errors. Should I use AVG to correct this? I have edited my registry to swap position of the control and caps lock keys. Will the AVG repair remove my editing?

It is best to avoid all registry cleaners as they generally cause more problems than they solve. The errors detected are usually of no consequence while the problems caused by "repairing" valid entries are more serious.

    Sounds like good advice. Thanks
