    Question on file called analytics.js

I have a personal website and I use Sitemeter.com to monitor how much traffic I have. Lately when I click on sitemeter, down at the bottom it asks if I want to open or save a file called analytics.js. I don't know what it is or if I need it. Does anyone have any information about it?
I suppose it's a java script file and I don't have java installed on my system and I really don't want to install it. I would appreciate any information. Thanks, ~Frank~

This is a Google file on website tracking. Enter it in a search engine to read about it.
