    serve.bannersdontwork.com malaware issues

    hi,
i'm new here so please bare with me.

i accidentally downloaded a virus/malaware/spyware (not sure) on my laptop and i don't know how to get rid of it. i geeked up and did all kinds of research (see below) and nothing worked. so here i am.
it was a pop-up screen asking if i wanted to download java.exe. when i tried closing it, it asked if i'm "sure i want to leave the page" while i was clicking on yes the notification disappeared & a java.exe filed was downloaded.

no major problems issued, but i knew there definitely was a virus & my computer was slowing down & freezing when i open skype. something was unusual. so i googled what i could do in case of an accidental download of virus on the laptop.
a thread suggested booting my laptop on safe mode with networking, getting ATF then scanning it with malaware bites. so i did & it worked just fine. BUT i did not uninstall the programs & a few days later pop-ups got more frequent (sometimes they went to google then redirected to the ad or just showed a white screen) & there were random changes in the homepage.

so i googled pop-up virus issues and a thread suggested combofix. so i uninstalled malaware bites, my AVG antivirus & i followed the instructions. once done with the scan & the cleaning, i uninstalled combofix & redownload AVG 2014 PC Tune-up.

the pop ups became less frequent but still there, so i took the name of the pop-ups (serve.bannersdontwork.com) & googled it & got a whole lot of threads explaining how to remove it manually. i followed the instructions (uninstalling the banner, showing hidden files, trying to look for the folders to delete them but i can't find them anywhere). so, i can't find the folders (not even under fake names.), i ended a few malicious processes but they keep coming back, and i'm unable to boot my laptop on any mode except for normal mode.

no matter how many F8s i press, i can't get to the menu.

    so two questions:
1- how do i get this malaware off my laptop?
2- can it be the malaware stopping be from being able from booting into safe-mode? and if so how do i solve this?

    i have a lenovo G470
    windows 7 home basic x64
run on google chrome (i have adblock on it)
have AVG 2014 PC-Tune up. (full version)
and i have all my college courses on it so.. please HELP!!
    thanks

Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here,
Ignore the title of the thread,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/303717-unusual-remote-assistance-control-process.html
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
Uncheck the box to Activate the Free trial from the final install options,

This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,

    hi

once i clicked on the super anti spyware link & downloaded it i got a Smileyswelove tab & some random program (PC accelerer) scanning my computer for "viruses"

everything stopped in the past few days. i force booted my laptop into safe mode & scanned it with avg. the banners stopped, the search go stopped.. everything.
only issue is whenever i turned it on it would give me this notification:
can not find "C:\users\user\appdata\local\instant savings app\repair.js"
    which i dont understand.

i'll clean it with Ccleaner (cause i already have it)
run your program & see where it goes.
