    hijacked links


    can anyone please help me!!!!
    Every time I click a link on a webpage I get hijacked to a different page (usually selling some rubbish) how on earth do I stop this from happening I do not have a virus or anything nasty on my computer and all my security is totally up to date. Please somebody help this has gone on long enough now and I am really sick of it.

    Hi boopygirl,

    You should try some good pop you blocker on the same. Try with a different browser like Google chrome which has some good pop up blocker.

    Also, ensure there are no malware infection on the system:

    Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

    Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

    Thank you for getting back so quickly. I already have a popup blocker as part of my security but am now downloading the malware you suggested will get back to you on the outcome.

    Thanks for your reply. Please perform the steps suggested by x BlueRobot as well and let us know the results.

    Also, check if the issue occurs on a different browser as well. Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

    In the end I had to phone my security software provider (Norton) and they took control and it took them over 2 hours to fix it but it all looks good now.
