    My PC has been invaded.


    It' slow to start up now.
    It's always doing something else when I try to Type or click on a link or program.
    I have cleaned out everything loaded up in summer/fall of 2013.
    I deleted the AVG.
    I tried some of the Downloads in a post here.
    Some of those Downloads brought more Programs I didn't want.
    I can't seem to get rid of that Backup program.

    Help me clean this mess up. AVG didn't seem to help, so I'll use another watchdog.

    As you only provide unspecific information I can only give unspecific advice.

    You can try to use these two programs and see what they find:

    CCleaner - Tutorial
    Malwarebytes Antimalware - Download free Version

    Otherwise provide more information to get more specific help. What backup program are you talking about?
    What Downloads have you tried? Also check in Task Manager if it shows a specific Process consuming much CPU when your machine is slow.

    I finally got rid of that "MyPCBackup" program.

    I checked Task Manager and it shows iTunes using (5) at times, but mostly (1) or (2)

    Interesting thing about that iTunes. They harped at me till I finally downloaded the new program. Immediately I started losing my music. I'd get the little (!) saying iTunes couldn't find that file.
    I haven't called them yet. This is the Second time that's happened with their downloads.

    I started to follow your Program to tell you what my system is made up of.
    Internet explorer won't load now. I'm using firefox.

    I downloaded PC clearner and Malware. I don't see what to do next?

    The Malware program caught a bad PC number: 74.120.16.34 I don't know how to find any info on that number though.

    That looks like an IP address, which is isn't necessarily bad. The best thing to do is attach the Malwarebytes scan log here in your next reply, so we can look at the results and advise you better.

    With iTunes, you could always try and get a ProcMon trace on it - Process Monitor

    Steps:

    1. Start ProcMon (Process Monitor)
    2. Recreate the problem in iTunes
    3. Close iTunes
    4. In ProcMon, press CTRL + F --> Search for File Not Found
    5. Find the iTunes program for when you ran ProcMon, and then post a screenshot.

    Alternatively, once you found that the problem has been successfully traced, then save the ProcMon trace as a .pml log file, and then place in a zipped folder and upload in your next post.


    Steps:

    1. In ProcMon, select CTRL + S, and then click OK. The file will be saved, the Path text box points to.

    When getting freeware from Cnet there will be additional addware applied to the original download you would have to sift through it you can tell which one's they are because it has a decline button most of the time when installing a program the prompt is CANCEL not Decline just for a heads up


    If you tried malware bytes it should detect your issues also look at your Browser add-ons usually the first place they are placed and take a look at your event viewer to see if something other then you want has been enabled

    That is a lot of PUPs, which are essentially just junkware programs, which will simply slow down your computer.

    Trojan.Agent or Trojan:Win32/Agent is a generic family name for a group of trojans. Scan with MBAM again, and then remove anything associated with Trojan.Agent. Then check your browser for any unnecessary toolbars and extensions which you don't use.

    Boy am I getting Popups now. I cant get anything going by moving the mouse. It drifts across something which will fill the screen.
    Frequently I get a balloon at the bottom right telling me of some IP address to be aware of. It goes away so fast I cant get the IP number.
    Did you guys know about all this?
    I'm wondering now if I'm stuck with this stuff or is there a way to clean my PC out?

I think my laptop has been invaded by a bot or something equally sinister. As soon as I boot up my computer, it starts downloading from the web even though I do not open my email program or internet explorer. It will keep downloading until I turn off my wifi or close down the computer. I am limited...
