Block IP Address
Greetings,
I'm under attack from a specific IP address. Can Windows Firewall block it? I can't find information on this anywhere.
Thanks,
Shane.

I followed the steps, but when I went to add a custom inbound rule, I got the following error message:
An error occurred while adding the rule.
Error: Access is denied
Status: The rule was parsed successfully from the store
There are a few strange things about my firewall:
- The article you mentioned said to right-click "Inbound Rules" and click "New Rule". However, in my firewall, when I right-click "Inbound Rules", the only options are "refresh" and "help".
- I don't have any pre-existing Inbound or Outbound Rules.
- I can't turn logging on. I've enabled logging for dropped packets and successful connections on my Private Profile, but nothing is being written to the .log file. The last time I had logging enabled, the file grew to 2,468 KB, even though its supposed to max-out at 1,024 KB.
I've tried searching Event Viewer for firewall-related messages, but the errors I've find so far are things like "Windows Firewall was unable to notify the user that it blocked an application from accepting incoming connections on the network".
Any idea what could be wrong?
Thanks,
Shane.
