lol, sure feels that way sometimes, doesn't it? Be careful with that microwave now........ I don't know any forums for that kind of thing . You're very welcome by the way.
This posted by Indiacarnie should have fixed the problem. I wonder why it didn't? Did you run the .bat file as administrator?Code:@Echo off pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc attrib -h -s -r hosts echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS attrib +r +h +s hosts popd ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew ipconfig /flushdns netsh winsock reset all netsh int ip reset all cls echo Script finished. pause del %0
Regarding this issue(the title of the thread):
I have the SAME problem... and have found out EXACTLY what is causing it. As a computer repair expert, I am baffled as to SOLVE the problem, but with the help of everyone putting ideas based on what I found out, this MALWARE issue WILL BE SOLVED.
Here is what happened: This file was created and is the problem,"C:\windows\SysWOW64\AdpeakProxy.dll"
(GO ahead! Go into AVG virus vault and restore that file! Boom! It works! All the browsers work Again!)
It is a PROXY DLL that's a virus which is installed when Scorpion-ware was maliciously installed on the victims computer. AVG knows it's bad, but unfortunately doesn't realize that the OS has been messed with, IN WHICH
the OS is looking for AdpeakProxy.dll for the Proxy service! But it's gone! So how to fix it?
We need to find out WHERE is the Original Proxy DLL!? And also where in the registry (most likely) is the DLL referenced.
Glad to hear everything is up and running for ya. Post back if you need further assistance. :)
