I think a Restore point before this happened might be the easiest option

    System Restore

I have the Search as the default , on search providers.
By the way ....I see 5 search providers in that box .
One I have no idea what it is .. this is the name : search.conduit.com
Should I remove that one from the list ?
Here are the others in the box:
    Bing...
Search... I checked this as default
    Yahoo
    and
    Bing

Disable all Browser Add-Ons except Flash Player, and Google in the Search box. Disallow any other search service.

Then run a full scan with SUPERAntiSpyware - Downloads declining the Trial and turning it off at Startup in its Prefs.

I'd also run a full scan with updated Malwarebytes

Establish a Clean boot and cull the logs as shown in Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

Let us know how this goes.

If Firefox you'll want to look at Tools>Add-ons>Plug-ins and Extensions first to see what's there, disable all but Flash. The others have them similarly situated.

Then look at Search to disable all but Google, using the drop-down from Search box if necessary to Manage Search engines, Get More Search Engines to add Google, set it as default, then Remove all others.

If you have suspicious items in Add-Ons look in Control Panel>Programs to uninstall them, run SAS to dig out the ones which dig in.

I'd also run System File Checker when you get to the above-mentioned Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

Hi LPt, that conduit is your problem, you've been infected.

Have a look through this until a security expert can help,

Conduit Search - Virus Removal Guide

You are going to need to run these tools as well,

    AdwCleaner Download

    Junkware Removal Tool Download

Greg , I'm back after running those programs you've suggested I do.... I either deleted the ones SuperSpyblaster found.. there were 31cookie files found, those were not harmful.. so the program suggested I delet those ...I did so.
    I Rebooted
Next I ran Malwarebytes... 18 Registery keys found, Registery Values found 7 , those were quarantined ( shall I leave those in there ? total 72.
    I then rebooted,
Ran Spyblaster, ran AVAST full scan.. it had secured my pc, removed those conduit junk, stuff files. I reset my browsers to original settings. I E and Chrome.
My MSN home page is back to normal, Outlook mail is working as are my contacts.

Thank you so much for this great help from you & our other friends here in W7Forums
I'm forever greatfull to you ALL.
I've saved the page of your other suggested ideas on the big page, I will work to get those all accomplished !!!!

I dont' use CHrome so don't know exactly how to get to Add-Ons to disable them, including all Search providers except Google. Most have Add-ons on the Tool's dropdown menu, and Search isn't far from it.

Some spyware can remain lodged in there even after removal if its not disabled, in Add-Ons and Search providers.

One should be familar enough with these that it's checked regularly as it is a frontline against spyware and greatly affects the browsers performance.

Greg I do know how to go in there to check on all of those regularly, I did see that one bad today when trying to get things back in order before asking for any help. I prefer to not do more damage if at all possible. I do try and keep all of those items checked on often.
I'm not sure how many or what exactly I need to keep however.. I do know this Windows 8 laptop , uses the 64 bit ( I think that's correct , NOT the 32 ), so those are the ones I would keep activated.
I do run my programs that keep my pc clean , such as the ones today, except I did not have the one SuperAntiSpyware free , I did download and run the free as you suggested I do.

I've been to my programs to see if anything remains in there to be a problem, not anything ,
however I see this , not knowing exactly what it is I've not uninstalled it.( CVE-2013-38-93, what might this be and should I
