I need to disable password expiration on Windows 7 Home Edition
I bought laptop (Toshiba) in Spring 2012. Computer ran just fine until Oct/Nov 2013 when the FBI impersonator malware got on it. I have never had a password on this laptop.
I had to take it to a computer tech. He did something to get it up and running again.
After he did whatever he did, I started getting these popups telling me my non-existent password is going to expire. At the end of the countdown last time the computer locked up and I wasn't able to get on for a long time. It was demanding the old password that didn't exist and for me to enter new password. For some reason it let me back in after I kept hitting keys.
Well, I deleted this admin account that the tech had put on my machine making myself the admin again. I didn't realize that he had me no longer the admin. There is still no password. The computer even indicates there's no password and recommends I put one on. I do not have a password.
I started getting the countdown notification again today. I am scared I am going to be locked out again. It says I have 5 days. I have done Google searches trying to find out how to turn this off. It was never enabled until the tech did whatever he did to enable it. It was a Google search result that got the malware on my machine in the first place, so I get nervous doing searches now.
I desperately need to get this disabled before my time is up. I do not use passwords. I do not want passwords on my laptop. There is no password on my laptop. I just keep having this time bomb locking me out of my machine ever so often.
I have done system scans with AVG, Malwarebytes, and ESET. I have no viruses or malware currently on my machine.
