Windows Defender is Turned Off

    Windows Defender is Turned Off


    and doesn't seem to want to enable.

    Question is; do I need it to be on, or CAN it be on, considering I am running MS Security Essentials?

    The installation of any third party AV software, disables the built in Defender...

    ah i see. even tho it is from MS, Security Essentials must be considered third party then.

    It more or less takes over for Defender. Totally normal.
