how to remove "start.qone8.com" homepage from IE Win 8.

    Hi guys and gals,

How does one go about completely removing "start.qone8.com" homepage from IE web browser? I've tried removing it from Control Panel; manually changing homepage to https://www.google.ki and then to a few others but qone8.com keeps loading instead of whatever homepage is shown or listed in internet options under the General tab. I've already downloaded spyhunter as it was recommended by one site and also adware removal tool but not quite sure about these two myself.

Please skip suggestions for "system restore" because I don't want to reinstall the programs i already installed.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. thanks and God bless,

    zeamann.

Then try resetting IE if that does not work.

    zeamann,

...or, you have the option using the tool Zoek, and letting me work with you! :)

    Zoek.exe download > Download zoek.exe version 5.0.0.0
When the download appears, save to the Desktop.

On the Desktop, right-click the Zoek.exe file and select: Run as Administrator (Give it a few seconds to appear.)

If your AntiVirus warns you about the program, either allow Zoek to run, or temporarily disable your AV program.
Info on how to disable your security applications > How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs - Security Mini-Guides

Now, click the Options button and place a checkmark only by the following options:
    Do a Deep Scan
    Installed programs

    Next...

    Close any open programs.
Click the Run script button, and wait.
It takes a few minutes to run.

When the tool finishes, the zoek-results.log is opened in Notepad.
The log is also found on the systemdrive, normally C:\
If a reboot is needed, the log is opened after the reboot.

Please post the zoek-results.log in your reply.

Thanks so much both of you Computer0304 and ThrashZone for the helpful links. However, I already run malwarebytes antimalware right when I posted for the problem so just by reading through the link https://forums.malwarebytes.org/inde...owtopic=136288 (that you provided Computer0304), it sorta easy for me to do the rest to completely remove this frustrating malware. Thanks again to you both and God bless,
