Firewall is blocking JDownloader despite me 'allowing' it.

Until recently, I've used 'Windows 7 Firewall Control' followed by 'Windows Firewall Notifier'. I decided there was no great benefit so uninstalled. Since then, my (Windows 7) firewall is blocking Jdownloader. I know this because JD works fine with the firewall disabled. So I went to the Control Panel, clicked 'Allow a program or feature through Windows firewall' and added all the JD 'exe' files that are in the JD folder in Program Files. No effect – JD still can't get updates or process downloads. Can anyone suggest what the problem is and how to fix it? Many thanks.

Do you ever get a prompt from windows firewall?

Do you have do not allow exceptions checked?

What is the network location set to?

Hi Andrew. I've solved the matter. When running the 'disable' script for Windows Firewall Notifier you have to do it 'as Administrator'. I hadn't and, despite the script's assurance, Windows Firewall was still blocking. After re-disabling Notifier 'as Administrator' all is now well.
