I hope you find this post it will only let me move two pages so i cant' find our last posts.

1 Herd protect i ran it again , 3 times but it keeps coming up your PC is clean.so i cant' uninstall those things you asked me to. but i will keep trying and as soon as i get a log i will do so.

2 Torrents i do use them occasionally for films and books. but i have now uninstalled it. that was one of the site where you get lots of ADS.

3 download free malware see screen shot.

4 choose to update now.not sure what you mean by this, what is file path. and windows explorer file
address bar this is above my head.

you have sent 5 links (i assume they are links) in blue i don't' know what you want me to do with them,
when i click on them i get a black screen. can you please explain.

1.) Ok, like I stated, if herd protect is no longer finding anything, do not worry about what I asked you to remove.

2.) I am glad you have uninstalled it.

3.) Per your screenshot of malwarebytes that is just fine. Malwarebytes says you are clean. So do not worry anymore about the log.

4.) * Please download and save the file TFC by Old Timer. Again, save the file to your downloads folder or your desktop. Do not run it.

Downloading TFC

* Close your programs before running this tool. TFC will close ALL open programs.

* Browse to where you saved tfc. Right click on tfc.exe and choose Run As Administrator.

* Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion. When it finishes it will say total files cleaned, and the start button will be grayed out. Click exit.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

5.) How does internet explorer act now?

6.) How is your pc now? Any better? Back to normal?

i have run TFC as you asked. followed your instructions ,all ok. as i am reading your post what comes up at the bottom, THIS CONTENT REQUIRES MEDIA PLAYER UPDATE 12.2 .nothing has changed unfortunately.

i cant' tell you about I.E because i cant' find it. i think this could be the problem. this all started originally.
be cause i kept getting a message up (,internet explore is not responding.)

i got all sorts of advice on how to clear it up but none worked.then i read that you cant' uninstall I.E 11 you can only turn it off. after trying to download I.E 10/ I.E 9 I.E 8 at different times . now have nothing.
when i check to see what I.E i have it says' 8. i can find several references to I.E in computer .
if i go to start/ run/ type in I.E i get about 4 ,but when i click on them all i get is a white page.
could this be the problem have i mucked it up.

1.) Go to start

, computer. Double Click local disk C. Go into program files. Find internet explorer. Then right click on iexplore.exe and choose send to desktop.

Close the window. At your desktop, right click iexplore.exe and choose rename. Rename it to internet explorer. Then right click and pin to taskbar and start menu.

2.) Reset internet explorer again (Make sure to delete personal settings):

3.) Download internet explorer 11 here:

Download Internet Explorer 11 - Microsoft Windows

Choose your language, you are running windows 7 sp1 64 bit. So choose that version and then download it. Save the file, then run it. Install and reboot. Let me know what happens. Internet explorer should be fine now.

4.) Are you using any other web browser than internet explorer? You will have to reset that one as well. Let me know what browsers you have installed and we can reset them all and clear the annoying message.

5.) Again please respond in number format so I can verify you have done all steps.

Morning Andrew.

1 Did as you asked start/computer/ program files/found internet explorer. not iexplore.exe.but did find it when i right clicked internet explorer. clicked on send to desktop. went to desktop right clicked it clicked rename '
renamed it internet explorer. then clicked open.got this box see screenshot. tried everything to open it
it just wont' open.

2 i dont want to install I.E 11 until i can get rid of all the others. a friend said would it be worth uninstalling
windows 7 and reinstalling it. what do you think .i don't' know if i would be up to that.

the dot was on open with at first i moved it after trying all other ways' same result

1.) Then you have not done as I asked. It needs to be iexplore.exe. It is in that folder. You have chosen the ieproxy dll file and that will not work.

You need to right click on iexplore.exe and send it to desktop. See screenshot below:

2.) What were the results of step 2?

3.) You cannot have multiple versions of internet explorer. You can only have 1 on your system. You might be seeing multiple icons and thinking they are all different versions. This is not the case. Please download internet explorer 11 as instructed in step 3 above.

4.) Please answer all questions. Again, do you have any other web browsers installed on your pc?

5.) I do not think you need to reinstall windows.

Morning Andrew

did step 2 again did personal settings then reset .then reset again.

3 start / computer / program files .found the right one this time. sent to desktop.renamed it .

internet explorer. bingo it worked. it was I.E 8. clicked on it great I.E back.

downloaded I.E 11 from your link. now i have nothing again, when i click on I.E i get a white page.

a few secs' then back to desktop.tried downloading other I.E .computer says' you have got I.E 10 on your computer. so did i do something wrong.

other than I.E problem computer running better.

1.) When you open internet explorer from the shortcut you made, and go to the little gear in the top right,(when you hover over it, it says tools) and click about internet explorer. It will then say internet explorer version. What is it?

Please answer my question on step 4 above. This is the last time I will ask. I am more then willing to help you, but you have to help me too. This is a team effort.

If you fail to answer my questions, I will leave this thread. I am not going to keep trying to help someone who will not respond to my clearly asked questions. It is a different matter if you do not know, but you need to respond. I cannot keep making guesses. You came here to ask for help, so you need to give as much information as possible and respond to my questions.

Hello Andrew once again i start by apologizing.

to answer question 4 yes i have Firefox.browser.

as to a screen shot .that's no good because i only get a white page .when i say nothing,

i mean i cant bring up I.E from any where no matter what i click concerning I.E i get a white page.

you say click the cog but that is only on the I.E browser and i cant' get it .

As you can tell i get a bit confused hence the forgetting to answer your questions.

i think you have been as patient as anybody could ask .and your probably sorry you started this post.

i also think we have done as much as we can do on this ,so i would like to say thank you for all you have

done. and i am sorry i have put you through it. so if you agree we should mark it as finished.

PS i hope the next person you help has a bit knowledge of PC s' it will help.
