I am not finished with you, we can get you fully fixed. The reason is your are probably getting the message in firefox too.

So in firefox, I suggest resetting it to default. Firefox has a help article on how to do it:

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...-most-problems

This will resolve your issues in firefox as your most likely getting the windows media player message there too.

Here is how to use the snipping tool to take a screenshot.

How to Use the Snipping Tool in seven

Here is how to upload it to the forum:

Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

Don't give up here, you can do this. Just take your time and reread a lot of needed.

    Great job!

That is firefox not being able to recover your tabs which is fine.

Click close on that message. Then in firefox, browse around and see if media player thing comes up.

Maybe you could show me a screenshot too with it coming up in internet explorer?

Or show me what happens by screenshot when trying to install internet explorer 11 via that link I sent you a page back?

Ok, I have a better idea. Install teamviewer from here:

TeamViewer - Free Remote Control, Remote Access & Online Meetings

Click the big green download button. Choose to install it.

Private message me your ID and password. Also what timezone you are in and what time is good for you.

I will remote into your pc and fix the issue, the post the results back on the forum.

Basically, Team Viewer is a software that allows others to log in to your computer remotely.

If you are comfortable with that, he is suggesting he can fix your computer remotely.

You need to decide if that is something you are comfortable with.

If you are not comfortable with this (me remoting into your computer and fixing the issue), I highly suggest taking it to a mom and pop shop to get your pc fixed up.

Morning Andrew. sorry its' taken so long to get back to you.but i have had real problems.
after our last post,i thought i would run all the security programmes you have listed over the time we have been dealing with this problem.i rebooted each time ,then one time i went to search for something .
i clicked on google got a message you are using a proxy server firefox cant' open this shortcut.
(OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ) anyway i went to firefox got another message couldnt' load XPCOM.
this happened a couple of weeks ago and i was told it was firefox if i uninstalled it then reinstalled it.
it would be fine. i did and it was. so this time i did the same, forgetting that i only had the one Browser.
no google no chrome no opera nothing when i came to reinstall it i couldnt' get on the internet. i tried everything but to no avail.
i was stuck.so ithought the only option left is to reinstall Widows 7. and that is what i have done.
ifound a how to reinstall Widows 7 .on you tube and with the help of my laptop i managed it so i am ,
up and running again whith Internet explorer and no ADS. i would like to thank you for all your help it has been really appreciated .

if i can give marks i give tiy ten out of ten for professionalism/courtesy/ and most of all perciverence.

    once again THANKS.

Glad you have it resolved. A reinstall is never a bad thing. :) I suggest you bookmark this thread.

Also, I advise you to install and use the following security programs so you do not get infected again:

-Panda antivirus -You can only have 1 antivirus installed at a time, I recommend using this one and uninstalling what you are using now--->MSE (Microsoft security essentials.)
    -Malwarebytes
    -Superantispyware
    -Should I remove it

Run them around once every 2 weeks.

Should I remove it is not a malware scanner, what it does is it looks at all installed programs on your pc and gives you a % of how many people uninstall the software. If the % is high, I would remove it as it most likely is not a good program.

Those are my recommendations to you, and I Highly suggest you follow them.

I also suggest using a standard user account in windows, and only using an admin account when you need to install software:

    User Account - Create

When using a standard account and you make a change or install a program that affects the whole system, UAC will prompt you to continue. Make sure the setting or program you are tying to install is listed, then click yes to continue. If you are just browsing the web and the prompt appears with a program you have not heard of, or do not know what it is, it is much safer to click no then yes. No will block the action, and if you were trying to do something, you can always start it again and choose yes.

UAC makes this easy, see here:

What is user account control (UAC)?

I also suggest choosing always notify for UAC:

What are User Account Control settings?

Those are my recommendations to you, and I Highly suggest you follow them.
