My computer gets extremely slow when using any browser

I can do anything on my computer and everything runs very smooth as long as I don't open a browser. I can open very large images, open any program like Photoshop or any other program that normally needs some time to load and it loads very fast, but as soon as I start any browser it doesn't respond. The browser opens very slow but no webpage is loading and a message on the top "Internet Explorer (Not responding)" is displayed on and off.

This happens whether or not I'm connected to Internet. One could expect that with no connection the browser would at least load pretty fast but with a message "...the page couldn't be found".

Also as soon as I have open a browser and having this issue, now everything else on the computer (that previously was no issue) also takes forever to load. Now any action can take about 15-30 minutes.

Also when clicking CTRL+Alt+Delete I get the error message:
"Failure to display security and shut down options
The logon process was unable to display security and logon options when CTRL+ALT+DELETE was pressed. If the operating system does not respond, press ESC or restart the computer by using the power switch."

BUT, if I click CTRL+Alt+Delete as soon as I reboot the computer, prior to open any browser, it's normal and I can select the task manager.

So what can be the problem?

I figure that maybe my harddrive is about to crash, so I was rushing to make a clone of the harddrive. Then when I started Windows from this other harddrive (with clone) instead - it's still the same thing. So the problem isn't the harddrive.

This issue have happened two times before, but the first time it did get back to normal after an hour and the second time it got normal after rebooting but this time nothing seems to work.

The first time this happened was about two weeks ago after downloading a trial of Visual Studio Ultimate 2013, but I doubt it has anything to do with that. I guess this just happened to occur at that point.

So what should I do? Any suggestions?

Should I do a system restore to a previous date?
Put in the Windows DVD and try to repare Windows 7?

Everythings is OK when browsing if I start Windows in Safe Mode.

    Hi and welcome to Sevenforums,
Which security suites do you use ?
It sounds like a startup item is a bit buggy to say the least or a browser add-on run amuck,

Lets start with your browser add-ons,
Close all browsers and use the start menu search,
    type in the search box,
    manage add-ons
You should land in internet options on the Programs section,
Click on the Manage add-ons button,
Make sure on the bottom left column Show All Add-ons is selected and post some screen shots,
Use the links above my signature image if you need assistance in the process,

My computer gets extremely slow when using any browser

    Hello!

    Thanks for helping out.

Actually I did wrote that this problem occurs when using any browser, but actually I only tested Google Chrome and Internet Explorer and that was enough evidence for me that something was wrong. But this time, directly after rebooting, I tried Firefox, Opera and Safari and they all worked for me. No problem at all, but still I have this problem for EI and Chrome.

Here is a screen shot for the Add-ons. If you click the thumbnail you can see it in full size. I did some translation because it's a Swedish version.

Maybe disable some of the add-ons connected to Chrome and IE is the way to go. For Chrome I have an extension called FVD Speed Dial that usually takes some time to load, but there's never been an actual problem.

For IE on the other hand I don't have this extension.

Ignore the title of the thread,
    Instant Savings App
Screen shot of the download button to use for Adwcleaner
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
Uncheck the box to Activate the Free trial from the final install options,

    Hello!

Should I post what's in the report (AdwCleaner[R0].txt)?
I can see there are some things checked that I definitely want to keep, like PC Speed Up for example.

By the way, now I can run IE and display any webpage without any problems. I think that when I tried to run IE before I did it right after running Google Chrome and that is what messed things up. If I run IE without first running Google Chrome then there's no issue.

So it's really Google Chrome that causes all the problems. I can't even run the settings in Chrome. I guess I could try to reinstall Google Chrome but I'm not so keen on doing that since I'm having 3 profiles that I would like to keep the settings for. There's a lot of important URL:s that I don't want to lose. I'm thinking of saving the settings to my Google account, but as long as I can't get into the settings in Chrome I can't do that either. The page for settings are showing up - but doesn't load properly.

If Adwcleaner tagged it's most likely corrupt,
    Cheers.

    Probably this,

PC Speed Up - Clean, optimize and get a faster PC now!

Unfortunately if they paid for it they will be reluctant to remove it.

    Another snake oil product.

OK, I have attached the report. At this stage AdwCleaner says "Pending. Please uncheck elements you don't want to remove". I'm afraid I could delete something that I would need, but maybe you could point me in the right direction. As derekimo said PC Speed Up was downloaded from here:

PC Speed Up - Clean, optimize and get a faster PC now!

I have uploaded all the Google Chrome settings to my Google account so I guess it would be safe to uninstall and reinstall Chrome. Then I could retrieve the settings with Google Sync. BUT still even if that would make things back to normal I think it's a good idea to go this route with your suggestions.

If I need to remove PC Speed Up I'm happy to do that. I could always get a better software.

    Thanks for helping out.

    Hi thanks,
I doubt Adwcleaner found anything worth saving,
Clean all but I'll request your question be moved to the security section because your system is loaded with corruptions,
Post the other 2 scanner results/ Malwarebytes Custom scan select the drive to scan usually C/ Superantispyware Full scan,
    Cheers.

I have attached the scan results.

When using Malwarebytes I couldn't save as txt. Everytime I tried that the program crashed. I could only save as xml. In order to upload it here I had to save it as txt which makes it looks a bit messy with all the xml code in it. If you save it as xml again and opens it with a software that adds coloring to the code, then I guess the most important parts would stand out a bit more.

I did clear everything that AdwCleaner found.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware did found a lot that I put in quarantine.

SUPERAntiSpyware Scan did also found a lot that I deleted.

Microsoft safety scanner didn't found anything.

Maybe it is the extension FVD Speed Dial that causing all this, because I created a new chrome profile without this extension and it work like it should, but as soon as I open a profile including this extension then everyting slows down and freezes for a while.

Maybe the best way is to uninstall Google Chrome, install again and retrieve all the settings with Google sync.
