Windows old

hi all running a new installed version of win 7 ultimate from disk not saved upgraded excreta but got a file that says its windows old ??? it had tons of stuff on it that I deleted but just two last files wont delete



I suspect I was infected from a storage drive that copied itself to my c drive run malwarebytes plus bitdefender find nothing wrong, what's going on ?

my mane win 7 installation on a 240 ssd witch was almost full till I deleted "contents from windows old" I don't save there at ssd to save life so this is worrying

Have you recently re-installed your OS? Windows.old will appear on your computer when you re-install your OS onto the current partition and not format it. The file just basically just saves all your files from before you re-installed the OS.

How to remove Windows.old? Windows.old Folder - Delete

yes now u have me questioning if I did reformat or not, but sure I did because of the mess I was in at the time, with a virus, will be posted on here (download for free bundle)

but still cant delete windows old get below message now maybe this because I deleted rest of it ?? but there must be some thing can delete

Please follow the steps listed in the webpage I gave you and not try to remove it by right-clicking it and selecting delete.

the option in cd clean up is not there, also I opened command prompt but wouldn't delete not sure if I could post here i.e. safe to ? also what's elevated command prompt ?
