    Beware of Daemon Tools

Just downloaded Daemon tools and Vipre was screaming at me.. Disabled Vipre because I figured this was a false positive and Daemon Tools had some piggy back toolbars and trovi search hijacks. No bueno

Just wanted to throw out a warning.

Win 7 has the ability to mount ISOs built-in so not much need of Daemon Tools anyway...

Hey Thrash, yeah I've been busy with work and family lately. After finally breaking in I've just been focused on learning as much as possible.

I got it straight from Daemons website although it did redirect to another site for the download (disk-tools.com) which after more research after the fact, turns out to be a known problem with corrupt files. You would think Daemon Tools devs would find a more reliable host...

This particular PC is running embedded 8.1 and (apparently) doesn't come with one. I ended up just downloading Virtual Clondrive.

out of all the virtual drive programs POWER ISO has hands down been the best.

this is the link to there website. I run both Microsoft security essentials and AVG, I scanned with both an it comes up clean.
PowerISO - Create, Burn, Mount, Edit, Compress, Encrypt, Split, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter, Virtual Drive, DAA File

I do a lot of gaming so I needed one that could stand the test of time.

by the way this is the link to the free version. I haven't tried the pay version yet. but the free version should do everything you need it for.

Daemon tools has always been trash software for awhile now. Causes a lot of bsods as well.

Very important rule which you have learned:

NEVER disable your antivirus when it starts screaming.

Same here. Burn iso yes. But not mount. I am assuming they meant burn.

Yeah I know, I should have known better but the 'cant be touched' attitude kicked in, lol.

I haven't really had any need to mount anything in a super long time and didn't know how bad Daemon has gotten.
