Well Imran mate you are getting the 1 PC for 1 year for an absolute give away price - without discount I worked that out to around AUD$9!!

It retails here through their site in Melbourne for AUD 49.95 although one can pick it up like I did originally at a local office supplies store for about 2/3rds of that price the renewal is 34% off as I said.

This has come as a revelation to me and smacks of price gouging. I suppose maybe it is linked to the cost of living but in this day and age seems to be going against the grain of the usual greed.

So can you confirm that the KISS is knocked down from 899 rupees? please because that only equates to AUD$16!! See my pic and let me know if I have got this right before I go stomping into Kaspersky ranting because if it is right then I might even get real upset and go Emsisoft

Hmm are you sure that is genuine Kaspersky because in America it is $60 and that equals 3636.87 Rupee. I think I should be the one ranting because Korea usually has prices way expensive than the primary English speaking countries (US, UK, AU). And, it is only on 2013 here in Korea! Well at least I don't use Kaspersky. But I feel sad for others here in Korea using Kaspersky.

Edit: Well, I checked the price and did some currency conversions and the price is actually only the equivalent of $40 here compared to the $59.95 in America. I guess you should not rant until you are sure you know what you are talking about. But still, it is only on 2013.

Well I think I know what I am talking about Computer mate I have been using KISS since the 10 version, and to give credit where it is due Kaspersky does let one upgrade to the next version on the same activation code.
So for Kaspersky users for example if you have 2013 then just save the download for the 2014 (or the 15) uninstall the current version using the uninstall using the tool in the Start menu which will save you your personal settings,
Then just install the 14 from downloads (I keep Downloads as a desktop folder / icon) and activate it with the code you already have, after that it is just a matter of checking your security settings for peace of mind. Keep in mind the GUI in 14 is very different to the 13 version and personally I do not like it - what the 15 version will be like remains to be seen if I am still with them because I still think the pricing difference we have been discussing is a bit out of whack.

Just a by the by I don't know what Korean pricing is like on computer gear but we do pay a lot more on components than they do in the US or UK and it annoys me seeing as most of the gear is made in China perhaps the major trading partner of Australia. Now I guess it is up to the company who is branding the gear but all the same it is very annoying!!

Well, the EULA of Kaspersky America does not say you can't activate an American version and the Korean website has links to the American website where they can use the English products. But I'm not sure about the Korean EULA as I can't find anything about the EULA in the Korean one. But I'm just going to assume that they allow you to use the American product because they have a link to the American website that says it is for those with a Korean license that wants to use the English software.

(Why am I even doing this when I'm not going to use Kaspersky anyway? I'm not saying it's bad, I just don't use it. Well, I guess this could have saved time for any English speaking people that lives in Korea and wants to use the American version.)

Well that is good mate and I don't think it is the time and place for a discussion over something so trivial really compared to what some people have got wrong with their machines - I have not set out to create a debate or cause offence to anyone and if I have I ma offering my sincere apologies/

But just one last thing and I will be quick.
Just over 18 months ago I rebuilt and upped the specs on a fairly new machine for my brother and shipped it to him in England. Not a cheap exercise but he doesn't have a lot of money and I earn enough for me to be able to do that for him or anyone that I feel needs helping out.
I installed and configured Kaspersky internet security suite onto this machine only to find it will not work in the UK or I think Europe per se'. So we ended up having to buy and install again when I visited him a few months later.
Personally I don't know why any software has got to be regional like that - it's a bit like the stupid regional DVD play zones rule.
I haven't heard back from Kaspersky yet and like I said it depends on their response as to whether I keep going with them because as little per day it is it is still money and I am on the side of the folks who are not in my position to make choices without having to watch the pennies.
