Oh okay. Well, should I continue using avast on the 8.1 compute? I don't like MSE or Windows Defender. They don't seem as protective as other antivirus programs. Plus, I read where they got a bad rating recently.

There's nothing wrong with MSE or Defender, I've used that on my 8.1, 10TP and a Vista install.

It is all down to Personal taste many say Avast is good ... I have never used it you have and have not had any bother with it really .. As for MSE i do use that on my Windows 7 Computer and never have had any trouble so far .. I think the main thing regarding any Programs is down to the user .. Watch where you go on the Internet and what you click on including Emails .. Any thing i Download i always Scan before use some times i even upload Files to Virus Total ... I also do not believe in Reviews ...
