Have not fired up my xp machine in quite a while, it is running extremely slow. Is there a downloadable and transferable to cd a virus/malware program that would run from the cd on bootup.

I have Avast but my trial is up in about 2 weeks and I want a software for 3 computer. I use to have McAfee but it really gums up your system. Anyway what would you recommend? I have a 64 bit OS if that makes a difference.
