Norton Internet Security and system restore

    Hi everyone.....

    I have Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I just started having an issue in that after I do a system restore ( I first turned off Tamper protection in Norton Internet Security) and then after the system restore when I try to turn Tamper protection back on in NIS ir will not stay on.
If I "undo" the system restore...I get a message that Windows was unable to undo the restore. However, I am then able to turn the Tamper protection back on in Norton Internet Security.
Do you think uninstalling my current Norton Inetrnet Security which is about 3 years old and then installing the latest version of NIS solve the issue?
I ran Windows system file checker and it did not find any issues/problems in Windows

    thank you

As a general answer, a re-install can often solve strange problems. You could also check if there's a specific uninstall tool. That can help sometimes too. Make sure to write down any license codes first.

You should be able to update Norton to the latest version if your subscription is in effect. When you launch it, click on "Support" then "New Version Check." If there is a newer version available, it should tell you & give you the option to update.

I too had this problem on a clients PC. When I turned off tamper protection, I turned it off all the way (Not just for 10 or 15 minutes as is listed in the choices).
