    create restore point... shortcut?

Since this is a beta and installing/testing alot of programs/drivers there is a need for restore points. Am wondering if there is a way to create a shortcut str8 to the dialogue box of naming the restore point with the create button... rather than pulling up the properties of system restore. To go even further, being able to select which drive other than system, to create a restore point, drop down box style maybe. Possibly creating a right click context menu option. any idea other than writing to MS? am i missing something?

Well by default, system restore in the task scheduler has SR set to make points at every startup and at 12 pm everyday. If you leave it to that, it's more than enough restore points without having to create any.

Have a look here, there are two desktop shortcuts, one with instant creation and one that allows you to name it before you create it. System Restore Point Shortcut

I didn't know anything about that! In fact I know nothing about task scheduler.
    Thanks Airbot :)

Not in my Windows 7 - they only get created when an update comes in or something else major.

Hmm, every clean install I've made and even Vista has two system restore tasks one for every startup and one for 12 noon. You'd have to have SR enabled in the first place and enough storage space set for it I suppose. I disable the system startup one.

Aha....I've discovered that mine is indeed set for that, but isn't doing it for some reason, notwithstanding the fact that I'm often not even booted into W7. I can't seem to modify it as all the settings are greyed out.
