MBAM is popping in every now and then. :(

    Hi friends. :)

I have been using MBAM over years. But the new version of free MBAM is annoying me too much. It pops up whenever it updates the database version or starts a scheduled scan. Too much annoying.

MBAM is not set to start automatically with windows, there is MSE only.

Can I stop it to behave in this way, whiting getting rid of it?

    Thanks a great lot. :)

Go into Malwarebytes Settings then into Update Settings. You should be able to select how many days you want to check for Updates.

I don't schedule any scans. I do them manually. While you are in Settings go to Automated Scheduling and change the settings.

I use Malwarebytes Premium and I don't remember how it works in the free version.

    Hi Archie,
Yea you need to try to edit the exiting update auto task or delete it and create another and set it to your preference,
As you can see I do not use auto scanner either just a couple update tasks,
    Why two :/
    Because one does not work
fwiw the update popup does not work for me even though it's checked it never has,
One of my gripes with no solution other than the same mbam clean and re-install and activate till I get sick of it,

Altered the update settings, but it appears that the advance scheduling is not accessible for the free version .... everything is greyed out there.

Then I would make sure that Malwarebytes in not checked in msconfig Startup or Non Microsoft Services. Of course everything would have to be done manually: Updates and Scans.

It was not in startup, now disabled from services.

Will report back soon. Thanks. :)

The free version doesn't have scheduled scans or updates.
Did you perhaps install with the Trial option, and let the Trial automatically expire after 14 days ?

Using the free version only. As I said earlier, Scheduled is not accessible for me ... everything is greyed out there.

    From Post #1
It pops up whenever it updates the database version or starts a scheduled scan.
Something is wrong, the free version should not start a scheduled scan.
I would do the MBAM Clean / reinstall.
