hey guys I bought 2015 mcaffee plus through my bank running W7 64 bit it only cost me 22 for 2 yr subscription is this a choice what is recommended for W7
I use my system for paying my bills checking my bank statements browsing the web and email and for email clients I'm thinking either thunderbird or windows live mail but more so on thunderbird
Thunderbird works pretty well and I don't see many complaints about it.
McAfee doesn't get much love around here, but to each his own, like religion, food, cars, etc.
If using a browser under Windows 7, some have added IBM's Trusteer Rapport to help protect their financial transactions. A few banks have urged their account holders into using it too. USAA, BofA and HSBC do come to mind. https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Trusteer
If your level of rational paranoia pushes you to even greater heights (or depths) a specialized LiveCD for your financial transactions may draw your interest. The Lightweight Portable Security (LPS) project has a steeper learning curve but it may serve the elevated security needs of some. https://spi.dod.mil/lipose.htm One could carry a bootable low capacity USB thumb drive around with it.
They are both free and I have tried both.
I too prefer Mozilla's Thunderbird above all other Mail User Agents. With it's on-going support and ever-growing array of optional add-ons, it can be quite extensible and securable.
