When I do security scans I really don't care how long it takes. If you need or want to do the just do it.
I do nothing on my systems when I do security scans. With SSD's it doesn't take long.
I keep check for rootkits checked all the time. I want to use the full power of Malwarebytes every scan. I don't worry about if it hurts or doesn't hurt the SSD. If it dies it dies. I would rather have a dead SSD than a infected SSD. Except for defrag I treat a SSD just like I would a hard drive. Use it and enjoy it.
