Possibly, Jack. Getting the timing right for tapping the key is crucial. But the link might be lost. This would point toward continuiing with a boot disk on the other steps using Lenovo OneKey or F12 keys to boot the disk.

Again, you can rescue your files at any time which is mentioned in the very beginning of Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start and which I mentioned in introducing that link and then again in my last post.

I think you are thinking of the hard drive being 1tb. RAM would be nowhere near that much. Again my point was if you do the reinstall that you need 3gb or more RAM to comfortably run 64 bit Windows 7.

Take some time when you get back to it to catch up with every step that has not been tried, or ask back how to do them until you understand fullly and can perform each. Often times the skipped step is the fix so let's not let the thread go on for pages longer while there are uncompleted steps.

Tapping instead of press down and hold is where I'm coming from.

I may have missed your version of Windows 7 Premium.... Please see this article: Download Windows 7 ISOs, Legally and for Free | PCsteps.com as long as your Lenovo system came with Windows 7 Premium ( and not updated from Vista)
You will need a 'working computer' in order to download your version. (hopefully you still have the OEM key).

TO EVERYONE WHO IS BEING SO WONDERFUL TO HELP ME:

I went back into my paper files yesterday and found the original specs from Lenovo for my computer. I knew something wasn't right too. My computer has a 1TB hard drive and 6GBDDR3 RAM. Please forgive me for misleading y'all. It wasn't intentional. The spec sheet shows Windows 7 Home Premium installed. This was not an aftermarket update.

I jumped on here real quickly to send this message but I won't be doing anything on my computers today as Tropical Storm Bill is nearly over us. We have had serious rainstorms all night and now we are under severe lightning thunderstorms and wind and constant texts from weather bureau and also power company warning us of power outages. I don't like lightning and try to stay off my computer when it is. Also I don't want to be in there trying to work on my big computer and the power go off. I do have battery backup but don't want to depend on it with something this important. I really do appreciate all the help and I believe we can get this done. Please just be patient with me.

Wow looks like i've missed the party!

Sorry i've been MIA over the last few days... been very busy!

Has this issue been resolved or is the computer still looping through start-up repair?

Thank you so much for your kind words, Jacee. Since moving back to Texas, I have a renewed respect for weather along the Gulf and in South Texas, especially since we lost 3 of our family members in that vacation home that was floating down the river in Wimberley TX with 8 people in it. It made all the national news.

We had so much rain and lightning. I am terrified of lightning. Even yesterday, every time I thought it was clear and I could get on my laptop, the minute I opened it, the storms came back over my house with tons of lightning so I decided to wait one more day. It is still overcast out there but no storm warnings on my phone yet today so I'm going to try to get my big computer running today, with all the wonderful help on this forum.

Please bear with me and be patient. We will get this done I know it.

Great to see you back MistUnleashed! I mist (LOL) you!

I haven't been on my computer in 4 days because of tropical storm Bill over my head but I hope to get back at it today. I have to read and catch up on what advice I have been given.

Thanks for checking on me. I desperately need your help and will try to do whatever it takes to get my big computer back up and running. Please have patience.

The last time I tried anything it was still looping through start-up repair.

Please check my post #45 which I quote here

I tried just restarting and punching F8 but it just went into that system repair loop. Then I tried restarting and holding down the F8 button with same results.

I tried both ways and can't seem to make F8 work. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but don't know what. I knew I had done this and wanted you to see it.

Thanks for trying to help me. I have admitted from the first that this is one area of the computer about which I know nothing.
