How to remove Avast certificate blocking emails, after uninstalling

Avast 2015 Free this morning started to block my reception of emails from in Eudora 7 and Thunderbird, though I can send emails.

I eventually went to the Avast site, got their uninstall utility, and removed the program correctly. However, it didn't remove the certificate with the unknown error. The certificate is issued by Issuer: C=US, O=Equifax, OU=Equifax Secure Certificate Authority and the date range is correct.

I went into Certificate Manager from CMD and removed all Equifax certificates, shut down, restarted but I get the same result. Does anyone know how to get rid of this certificate?
