Can I disable windows firewall when I have Avast

    Can I disable windows firewall when I have Avast


    I want to speed up my computer, so I found that when I disable some services from service.msc it will kind of speed it up, so can I disable windows firewall when I have avast, is avast an alternative for it.

    I would say if Avast didn't turn it off automatically then keep it running. Also, not all versions of Avast contain a firewall as far as I know. Which version are you running?

    Free doesn't include a firewall as far as I know. See the link

    Leave the Firewall on. It doesn't use much CPU at all unless you've added a lot of rules. It's probably Avast slowing your PC down. As I recall, it installs something like 80+ services and drivers. Also check your startup programs and services.

    You can run the Uninstall/Change option for Avast and eliminate modules that you are not needing, not using. You need only Check Network, Rescue Disk, Web & Mail & File shields.

    The only program that runs on the start up is avast.
