    Uninstalling Avast free

I need to uninstall Avast free but am having problems.

Avast does NOT show on windows Programs and Features. Therefore I can not uninstall it from there. I have Revo Uninstaller but it also does not show up there.

I downloaded aswClear and tried to run it in Safe Mode. Got the error message below.
I also tried to reinstall avast and got the the same error message.

    What next?

    Thanks

    See if this works ....
    Download AVAST Software Uninstall Utility
Special Note: Needs to be started from Safe Mode, the program will offer to reboot you into Safe Mode on launch. If you did not install the Avast product to the default install location, you need to point to it in the box.

I tried that (see post) and got a error message.

    What else can I try?

Install AVAST again and hope that it repairs the current state of your install... then try the normal uninstall method.

jacee - Before I saw your post I got Avast uninstalled (or enough so that it would not startup). I open in safe mode and used regedit to delete all Avast items. Then ran CCleaner to find any other items .

I then rebooted and went to C drive and deleted all other listings of Avast. I have found many items (places like AppData) that were not allowing delete, but using Unlocker was able to remove also all the rest.

    Thanks you for your help.
