    Yup.
    When I was testing W-10 I use Defender along with Malwarebytes with no problems.

    My first paid AV was Norton back in 2003 or so when I was still using Win95. When the renewal came up a month before it was to end, it was around $40, $45. I paid it at the time because I didn't know anything else.
    In 2005 I found a British magazine with a CD in it that included Avast v.4. After that, I've never paid for AV protection again. Since then, I've used either Avast or Avira and have yet to be infected by anything at all.

    Comcast, which is my ISP provides Norton 360 free with their service. Comcast has used Norton for approximately 7 years now. In that time, I've had no issues with the Symantec software... works fine. However, if I had to pay for protection, I might consider using one of the free AV's with MBAM pro.
