Try the steps shown in that video and let us know where you encounter problems.
Right-click on the cmd shortcut (as shown in the video)
Select Run as administrator (as shown in the video)
Let us know if that works for you.
As far as what happened with the forum post - let's consider that a glitch and only deal with it if it happens over and over.
Thank you, PCL. I will try hit post "quickly" and see if it works.
Yes, did a "critical" scan on Panda.

This forum has a very complete list of Tutorials for Windows 7.
The Tutorial section is a the top of every page.
Seldom does one have to leave the forum to see a how to or tutorial for Windows 7.
I would recommend reading them and using them.
Tutorial by Brink:
Disk Check
First, I really would have not posted here if I had felt confidant to watch the YouTube video or a tutorial by myself. I have gotten myself in a lot of hot water in the past....
That said, THANKS to torchwood, PCL and ThrashZone for your patience and understanding with me. (Thanks for your encouragement, too, PCL!)
I DID it! I ran a chkdsk and all was well until just a few seconds ago....the little Essentials flag WAS green until just a moment ago. Ugh. Well, mission accomplished....I hope!
Now I need to ponder upgrading to Windows 10. . . but that's for another thread, and most likely I won't do it at all.
Again, thank you all very much for your kindness! Your random act of kindness for today!
No, thank you, PCL!
