MsMpEng.exe 50% hi MEM uninstall problems

    Right so,

samsung laptop is using 50% Physical Memory on idle

    start-up items = zero
    ESET online scan = clean
    clean boot performed = ok
    sfc /scannow = ok

I've been tidying up , drivers BIOS updates
    all updated, window updated ..

    Uninistalled MSEssentials
however there's another copy in program files
with no option to uninstall in programs

How do I get rid of it , wipe the machine
clear of MSE and defender and start over ..

getting error code 0x80073b01 when i try to open MSE

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Tests: reinstalled mse so i could uninstall
ok so am able to have both turned off now
    defender and microsoft security essentials
memory lower, still too high 30%

not even going to try to uninstall defender or MSE

would like to try to do a repair via the all-in-one tool
let windows rebuild some areas - worked before
which ones should i tick ?

    jaycee are you there lovely?

Note to self on this laptop running windows 7

    NP300E5AI (NP300E5A-A01DX) | Support | SAMSUNG UK

in idle mode physical mem ought to be 12-15% , my experience anyone disagree?

    Samsung NP300E5A-A01DX Intel® 2200 MHz 500 GB 4096 MB HD Graphics 3000

Is sufficient to run windows 7 without having a huge mem usage on idle

so something is causing a problem .. where to begin ?

    Nothing there Jacee

    I don't think there's any malware/virus
    just needs tweaking ..

is it an idea to remove windows defender
    put something else on
    MsMpEng.exe is a real hog

Never seen this before 30% at idle
its X2 , even 15% is top level INMO

    (yes I've upgraded to win 10 )

the laptop is 3 yrs old , has had plenty
    of normal software installed
I've defragged and slimmed it right down
    CCleaner etc ..

its bugging me as 12% - 15% idle is what I'm expecting ..
    do you agree?

ok I've checked my PC and laptop
1.4 Gig RAM is about normal just to load windows
    (vary for win 7/8/10 )
    so there's not a problem
I'm gonna recommed for £18 my mate to get an extra 4 gig stick o ram
Computer memory and SSD upgrades scan results for Samsung NP Series Notebooks 300V3A/300V4A/300V5A/200A4B/200A5B from Crucial

that'll bring the mem usage at start up down by 1/2 to 15% = sweet spot
case solved JC -- the lord is with thee :)

    next time
