MSE Will No Longer Complete A Full Scan

When attempting a full scan the program freezes when the progress bar reaches about 1/5 of the scan. Problem began two days ago. I initially uninstalled MSE, went on line to get a new copy, installed it, but no improvement. For years I've run it along side MalwareBytes Premium with no problems. But as a test, I turned off MalwareBytes but this did not help. When MSE freezes it requires a complete system reboot before it will run at all. MSE will complete a quick scan. In the past two days I've run complete scans using MalwareBytes trying to determine if there's possibly a bug in my system causing the problem but it found nothing wrong. Thanks in advance for you consideration.

Check Windows 7 Updates and see if their is anything there mentioning MSE.

You could use this to check for a infection. If it goes through a complete Eset scan, it's not your hard drive stopping MSE.
Eset will find things that Malwarebytes won't find.

This might provide you with a solution as to what some others have done to resolve this issue. Hope this helps.

    Works For Now

Per Layback Bear's suggestion I did a ESET scan and it found: "C:\Downloads\System\Sound Editing Software\wpsetup.exe a variant of Win32/Toolbar.Conduit.H potentially unwanted application deleted - quarantined." As a precaution I deleted the Sound Editing Software. I uninstalled MSE, ran a Malwarebytes full scan and it was clean. I uninstalled Malwarebytes, rebooted, installed MSE, ran a full scan and it completed the scan and found nothing. I then installed Malwarebytes and ran a full scan that also was clean. Finally I ran MSE (with Malwarebytes installed) and it completed a full scan that was clean. So, for now, I'm back in business. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Happy you got things straighten out.
Very systematically doing the test and removing infection.

I use MSE and Malwarebytes Premium together and active and it does work well.

    Happy computeing.
