I tried the Kaspersky 10 Rescue CD and did the scan, but it didn't seem to find anything. I have the windows product key so maybe I could try the method mdd1963 talked about. If so can I have more info on how to go about it.

Ok use whatever method you want if what mdd suggested doesn't come up with anything then try the tutorial I posted - it will definitely work if you have a friend or relative with a Windows DVD.

Now as in the tutorial it doesn't matter what version you want because the DVD;s all come with all versions you just need to pick the version you want and have the activation code for. That incudes whether the DVD is an OEM or a retail copy.

Some try to go Ultimate when they have just a Home code and of course with what you might imagine - no go. What you must look for though is if the borrowed DVD has SP1 or not - some of the older DVD's did not have that on it which in that case you will need to download and install SP1 - very tedious - been there done that
