    Latest AV Comparatives


    While I keep an eye on the AV Comparatives listings I see they have a new rating system and also some links to bootable disks for some of the major "players' which some might find intersting:)

    I don't pay too much attention to those tests except to avoid the poorest performers. I find that my AV rarely detects anything as I use a few other methods to block threats before my onboard AV even gets a look at them.

    I do find this unofficial AV testing method very interesting:

    So looking at the current chart none of the top players are anywhere near able to detect 100% of currently active zero day (new) exploits.

    Yep well I suppose in a way they are somewhat subjective but I find this one reasonably close to the mark for a simple comparison.

    Again and I know I keep saying this but the best AV is the person in front of the keyboard and their computing habits
