    McAfee Firewall issue

Hi, On the Show Hidden Icons (bottom taskbar) McAfee Icon states "Security issue". I check McAfee and it shows the firewall is off. Went to the Control Panel>Windows Firewall. Windows Firewall page shows Home or Work (Private) Network is connected and the Public Network is not connected. This issue with McAfee has only started in the last few days and I'm checking this every day just to find out if the firewall is on or off-any suggestions? Do I need to tuirn off Windows firewall?

You shouldn't run two firewalls at the same time. Either use Windows firewall, or McAffee's firewall, but don't use both.

Incidentally, there are better antivirus programs out there.

    Just my $0.02

Hi Mellon Head, Thanks for the quick reply. I've turned off Windows Firewall and I'll see how things go. If still having problems will go back to McAfee.

Good boy. Never run without a firewall. :)

Hi Mellon Head, I've returned to the Windows Firewall! I thought once I had turned off the Windows Firewall I would be ok with McAfee Firewall but, no, McAfee was showing it's Firewall was on and the next moment it was saying it was turned off! Makes you wonder just what else McAfee is showing as being ok but, it's not, anyway, thanks for your help, Mellon Head.
