Should I upgrade to Comodo Internet Security?

    Hello Everyone,

I have been using Comodo Antivirus for so many years now, and it works fine. Now I got a mail from Comodo regarding upgrade to Internet Security. I'm literally confused! Is Comodo Internet Security a good option to have?
    Thank You in advance!:)

I first heard of Comodo though their industrial strength Firewall, It takes a little bit of work to set-up, (as you are familiar with their AV I'm sure you are aware of this, and the use of learn mode for a few days or weeks at the start to make things easier to set-up ) but it is a quality that is as good as anything on the market and better than most, the HIPS system is also of good quality - As the package that I am thinking of is a free option, (it was always part of Comodo's mission statement to supply free protection for private users to make things safer for their corporate clients), I would suggest you take a look as you can switch off any part of the total system that you have an issue with or have protected by other software

I had Comodo IS for some time; I really did enjoy configuring and using it. Finances had me dial back on software big time; for now, I'm using Windows Firewall and Emsisoft AM [and its AV].

Roland, have a look at the free version, Comodo policy is to provide the same tools as the versions sold to businesses, free to personal users

Free Internet Security | Why Comodo Internet Security Suite for PC?

This should contain the firewall, AV and HIPS all of which are not cut down versions

Thanks for reminder about their free versions, Barman! Actually, I also had some technical difficulties with CIS -- CIS and my Independent School Districts' internet setup did not get along -- that's the geek reason I had to drop CIS.

I've been using CIS Premium (free) for a couple of years. You just don't get free support if you need help but it offers the same protection as paid version.

Setup and configuration is an issue but there is a decent enough guide here:

Personally I disabled HIPS and Viruscope and use alternatives.

What is the "Upgrade" option that is being offered for $27.99. I am currently using Comodo Antivirus software in my system and if i upgrade to Internet Security, will both the AV and CIS function together?

As @Callender stated above, there are two versions of the CIS software, both are the same from a technical point of view, just the paid version includes free support, the free version does not, you are expected to sort out any issues you have yourself, but, of course, there are freely accessible user forums which are often as good as the official support

CIS includes the Antivirus so it will technically replace your existing AV, of course as it's essentially the software, when you install it will check and continue to apply any settings you have changed from defaults (especially usefull if you have added any exceptions or additional scans )

I don't get that offer. Try these settings:
