Smadav antivirus wont work on my windows 7 professional 64bit

For about a week i was experiencing slow performance of my windows 7. I have asked to use ccleaner and antivirus software to provide security, I find free smadav free antivirus software i have installed and wont find good results. Has anyone used this

Looking into this it doesn't sound very good to me. I found this note on their website.

Smadav is an additional protection (second layer) antivirus, and specialize in protecting USB Flash-disk to avoid virus infection.

I other words they don't intend on this being your primary AV and it may not even have active monitoring. I would ditch it for something else.

Personally I use Microsoft security essentials. I don't know if it's the best though.

I used 360 Total Security for both Win7 and Win10, issue free for about 18 months.......

(Comes with several useful tools, such as modifying your startup apps, cleaning utility, firewall (glasswire), etc....)
