    Malwarebytes Lifetime

Just wondering if there is a scam here.

One is listed as older 1.75, but states definitions are updated, but my guess is the software is not and the
key wont work on the newest software.

Second is, if Malwarebytes website states I can get Anti-Exploit and Malwarebytes for $15 each, but only good for one year. Are the sellers legit, or just sending the same duplicate codes via email to the buyer?

If you have a valid/legitimate MBAM 1.x lifetime license you can upgrade it to a MBAM Pro 2.x lifetime license.
They grandfathered in the lifetime license available with MBAM 1.x when updating to MBAM 2.x.

This was discussed in many threads years ago with the release of MBAM 2.x, if you want to search for those threads.

MAKE SURE you have your LICENSE ID and KEY before updating to MBAM ver 2.
This MBAM forum thread should help you getting your LICENSE ID and KEY:

    Hi:

Sale of lifetime licenses by the official Malwarebytes Online Store stopped in March 2014.
Thereafter, a number of legitimate vendors continued to sell their remaining stock.
But those licenses sold out a long time ago.
AFAIK, there are no further available lifetime licenses available anywhere, for any price.
And there never was a multi-PC, lifetime license for MBAM or ANY lifetime license (even for 1 PC) for MBAE.
So, I would NOT recommend buying any MBAM lifetime license or MBAE lifetime license anywhere at this time, even from a reputable seller, such as Newegg.
Do NOT -- under any circumstances -- buy an MBAM or MBAE (or any software?) license on eBay, or from the Amazon marketplace (there have been recent reports of pirated/cracked/blacklisted licenses sold even at Amazon.com).

Malwarebytes does occasionally offer promo bundles of MBAM Premium + MBAE Premium.
And I recently saw a boxed CD combo package at a brick/mortar computer store offering an up-to-3-PC license for both programs for $35.
That is/was a legit product and a great deal.

The bottom line -- from a safety standpoint -- is that the software vendor's own site is often the safest place to purchase a software license.
The Malwarebytes Online Store offers a discount for multiple MBAM and/or MBAE licenses purchased at the same transaction.
The standard license is a transferable, 1 PC license. However there is a 2-year license option, as well, to lock in the price.

    Bottom line:

    • CAVEAT EMPTOR buying ANY "Lifetime" license for MBAM at this time, regardless of the source. Even if you do succeed in activating it, it's likely that the license will run into a validation problem soon enough.
    • There is no such thing as a "lifetime" MBAE license -- that is guaranteed to be bogus.
    • No matter where you buy, be sure to keep a robust paper trail of all transaction info.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thanks,
    MM

    ALSO:

As @DavidE correctly explained, if you have a valid, 1-PC, lifetime Consumer license for MBAM 1.75, then that license was indeed "grandfathered" to version 2.x.
It may be activated on only one system at a time, but may be transferred to another PC in the same household.

If you had such a license for version 1.75 properly activated on your system, then you *may* be able to look up the license info from the registry, as long as you have not reinstalled Windows.

If you did not activate a 1.75 license on this system, or if you are having trouble locating your license, then the best ways to obtain the license info would be:

    1. The confirmation email sent from the e-commerce partner, cleverbridge at the time of sale, if purchased from the Malwarebytes online store.
      1. If you do not have the info, you may contact cleverbridge and they will look it up HERE.
    2. The transaction paperwork from the 3rd-party seller, if you purchased elsewhere.
    3. The CD sleeve or a card within the box, if you purchased MBAM on a CD
    4. Contacting the Malwarebytes Help Desk HERE.

    Cheers,

    MM
