Twilight Fans Beware, new "Scareware" Targets You!

Quote:
Fans of “Twilight” and “New Moon” already have plenty to be scared about – vampires, werewolves, a swirling debate over the feminist values of Stephenie Meyer's hit series. But what about malware? Thanks for the heads up Zen00. I have come across stuff like that online and it can be scary even to someone who has been malware knowledgeable for years. The only part of the article that I have a problem with is the garlic up my sleeves is starting to be a bit uncomfortable.

To be honest, all I knew about Twighlight is that the lead actor is nothing more than a hairstyle with a fixed expression.

But since it's so popular, it's unsurprising fans are being targeted.

My office just upgraded, and I can no longer use Windows XP. On this system, I was able to add a separate taskbar to facilitate quick access to commonly-browsed folder locations on our vast network, and another one expedited the launching of useful programs and lists. Each task on each taskbar...

Beware the dreaded "white list" -- HP is guilty as charged
I don't normally start threads like this. Not all product manufacturers are created equal and some are notably better than others. But what bothers me is when a company makes a very decent product and then in a covert manner, cripples it as a means to gouge/fleece the consumer. I contacted HP...
