    Access denied, error 5

    Hello,

I'm the sole user/administrator of this computer, therefore I should have the ownership of files, folders.

However file access (i.e. installation) is always denied upon double-click, only the right-click run--> as administrator works. Double-click should work, too.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

Right tick on the program or icon.
Select Properties and then Advance. You may or my not see this.

Anti Virus may block this as a lot of malware runs from that folder who has rights on the folder system should have rights as installs are run as system

Sorry about the very much-delayed answer.

I should have described my problem more clearly.
Certian installation/.exe files do not work by double-click even if disable my antivirus, only by right-click then running it as administrator as opposed to the correctly functioning my other PC with same OS.
