reset admin password?

My cousin called me last night because he needs to download/install software for some wireless thing he bought. I have the computer set so only the admin can download stuff. He is the admin and he forgot the password. I never made a password reset disk after I installed Windows.

I have a Windows install CD that I can use. Would I follow this tutorial: Password Reset

Also, what do you use to remember passwords and software keys for other peoples computers that you work on? I get called to fix someone's PC and I'll ask them for a password or some other info and they can't remember which makes it more difficult.

That method should work, but the last time I needed to reset a Windows password I found it quicker to boot from Kyhi's Rescue disk and use the password reset tool on that.

If it's an x64 compatible machine (pretty much everything is these days) that should be fine.

I'm pretty sure it is. Built the computer some time ago.
I used Rufus to make a bootable USB drive.
